Kim - Quails' Gate Dry
Riesling 2007
Aromas of spearmint, green tea and key lime pie combine with a fresh,
juicy palate of tropical lemon-lime and mineral, slate undertones. This
wine has amazing mouth-watering acidity, which is balanced by the
fruit's natural residual sweetness. This is a very versatile wine to be
enjoyed on its own or with food. We recommend it with prosciutto
wrapped chicken breast stuffed with basil and oven dried tomatoes.
Jeff - Gray Monk Pinot Gris 2007
This wine had an intense aroma of pink grapefruit and pineapple and
flavours of citrus fruits and apricots. The color can range from pale
lemon in cooler years to a soft peach color in hot years. Lively and
piquant, this wine is refreshingly zesty and clean. It is a versatile
partner to seafood, pasta with cream sauce, white meats and cheeses
such as Parmigiano.
Val - Quails' Gate Pinot
Noir 2006
Burgundy in colour, this wine has a fine aroma of blackberries and rose
petals. There is a hint of raspberry in the flavour. Decanting this
wine brings out the characteristic silky texture of Pinot Noir. Served
slightly cool, this is excellent with salmon as well as red meats and
cheese.
Allison - Tinhorn Creek Oldfield's Merlot 2004
Chocolate, sweet vanilla, blackberries, and leather are prominent
aromas of this full bodied wine. On the palate cassis, spice,
blackberries and black cherries lead the way. The finish is long and
the tannins big, but well balanced.
